These last few years, the word resilience has taken on a new meaning in my life. The only thing we can expect in life is that we can-as I said in my book–expect the unexpected. In the EPONA program, we are learning about emotional agility and for that I am truly grateful. The idea of emotional agility is that we learn to trust emotion as information and instead of resisting or stuffing our emotions, learning to dance with them.
What does it mean to dance with our emotions? It means the willingness as Pema Chodron says, to just “sit in them.” Simple? Well yes and no. Sitting with our emotions and asking them for meaning, is the stuff of warriors. The benefits? Increased emotional health and WELLbeing.
